Passions
Haha I’m up at 3:45am this morning to watch some UFC. My mate Steve got me into this in around 2016, while we were on one of our annual golf tours.
A bit later on today there is a cracker F1 GP in Sochi, Russia. If Hamilton wins from pole he will match the great Michael Schumacher in total race wins.
Why am I writing this? I think it’s important that if our jobs also happen to be our main passions (I hope this is the case for friends reading this), then I think it’s good to have a few things (not your job) that you can be passionate about. It really helps me take my mind off work and stay fresh and excited for the next audio endeavour.
Also very keen to head to the cinema soon again. Maybe this week. It’s one of my all time favourite things to do but Covid has made it tough.
Most memorable and game changing films on the big screen for me have been: The Matrix, LOTR, Interstellar and The Passion of the Christ.
I have some mastering work to do this week as well as some gear tests which is always fun.
I cannot wait to share more about the audio gear venture I have started. A good friend in Europe, who has a team of techies, will be building these units. I’ll be finishing them off in the UK and then who knows if I’ll make them commercially available. Still lots of work before then.
We have the main circuit pretty much figured out. At the moment I’m just finishing up the faceplate design and then we will start building the prototype!
